Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist, is well known for her music. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and the first female to receive it. Alongside nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the first musician of Indian origin to present at and perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was one of the Indian young sitar artist. She is the student of Ravi Shankar, and the daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her early years of her life traveling between London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. Later she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school, graduating with distinction in the year 1999. Even though she's very young, Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording record. Her father has accompanied her in many performances for some time. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. Since she's performed at many of the biggest stages around across the globe, she's career on stage has been extensive. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not only limited to music. Anoushka Shankar started her musical studies at the age of nine. A few years later she played her first music debut with the sitar Delhi for her father's 70th birthday celebration. Anoushka, who accompanied her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive number of experiences. In her teenage years she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest and sole female to receive the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament to recognize her artistry and musicianship as a preeminent musician of in the Asian Arts.
